She started showing when she was ten years old. During this time she had begun showing with horses on her families ranch. Two years later when she was seventeen her little sister April was born. Two years after that her brother Kamden was born. Even when she does speak English it’s hard to understand due to her French and Icelandic mixed accent which was more French than Icelandic.Īt age twelve she became a sister to a brother who her parents named Breckan. It was hard for her to adjust and took her a while to understand English even now she will sometimes slip back into speaking French when she’s nervous or talking fast. It would be five years till they moved to America to live with her father. Her mother had not yet been ready to leave yet. Then her father moved to America for work. Her parents lived with each other until she was age five. She was born in the country side of France. Normally her antique key necklace or her golden locket necklace. The only other jewelry she wears is short necklaces. If you see her out and about you might see her wearing a ring or two. The most jewelry you will see this girl wear is her horse shoe, animal or horse earrings, and never any dangly earrings. She loves short boots or no shoes at all. She loves scarfs in winter and fall as well as beret hats in fall and summer, but mostly in fall. She also likes short shorts and denim jackets. She loves wearing dresses that are easy to move it yet that can handle being ridden in. Her white dress (the one in the picture), And any denim jackets.

We also invite you to check out our separate post on how to multitask and take meeting notes during a Microsoft Teams meeting. The split screen on Windows feature can help you stay organized while you multitask-as much organized as someone can get while multitasking. Splitting your Windows screens into different parts After you’ve snapped one screen into one corner, you can drag other windows to fill the remaining space. Then, also press the Windows key with the up or down key as well now move your window up or down. For any active window, press the Windows key along with left or right key. When you want to split your screen into two or more sections, you’ll have to follow relatively similar processes. Similarly, when you want to rearrange your Windows as it was before, all you’ve to do is press the Windows key along with the up or down arrow key. Go to any active window, and press the Windows key along with either the right or left arrow do this and your active screen will be snapped to the left or the right side of your screen. The case is not much different when you’re splitting your screen. Since it’s Windows we’re talking about, it’s almost always the case that if you’ve to do something, it can be easily done with the help of a keyboard shortcut. Split your Windows screen through shortcuts Click on any single snap and your chosen window will get adjusted to one side, with an option to set the second or third window (if have them open) accordingly. Limited to Windows 11, the snap layout feature is accessible by simply hovering your mouse over the Windows maximize feature or simply pressing the Windows Key + Z shortcut.Īs soon as you do this, you’ll see a transparent option to select a new snap from the multiple options there. Snap layouts are a new feature on Windows 11 that will help you snap your Windows screen in multiple ways. All you need to do is drag and drop your Windows to four different corners, and that’s it-your screen will successfully split into four distinct parts. Split the Windows screen into four partsįinally, we’ll look at how you can split your screen into four parts. Do this, and your Windows will be successfully split into three separate screens. Microsoft Windows 10 and Apple macOS already have the split-screen feature built into them, you just need to drag your window to any corner of the screen. As soon as you do that, you’ll get options to pick your third window (if you’ve opened more than three windows) from the last corner. When visiting Lake Natron, a Wildlife Management Association (WMA) permit is required. These are countrywide conservation areas, established to benefit and help local communities throughout Tanzania. Natron lies in a Wildlife Management Area. It's a scenic drive on tarmac back roads and all-weather via Longido, Oldonyosambu and Engare Nanyuki. Or via Longido to West Kilimanjaro Area ( Matadi). Engaresero to Mto wa Mbu takes about 3 - 4 hours. You can take two routes back to Arusha / JRO Airport:Įither straight down south, via Engaruka to Mto wa Mbu, the gateway town of Manyara National Park. The last 20 km before Engaresero is a rough road. From Wasso to Sonja is an all-weather gravel road. There is a tarmac road from Klein's gate to Wasso town. From Kleins Gate, it's 4-5 hours to Lake Natron. The best is to camp/stay at a lodge near Kleins Gate, in the northeastern corner of the Serengeti. To get from central Serengeti (Seronera) to Lake Natron in a day is not recommendable or feasible. At least spend 2 nights ( but preferably 3) in the area, because it takes a travel day to get there to and from. Not everyone is aware of the driving times to and from Lake Natron. Lake Natron is included in our Northern Circuit - off-the-beaten-track itinerary. The most logical route is to visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Serengeti first, and then continue to Lake Natron. Return via Mto wa Mbu to Arusha, or via Longido to West Kilimanjaro Area which is close to JRO International Airport. Where to include Lake Natron in my Tanzania itinerary? In December and January, the lake shores swarm with flamingos, as then is the time most of their eggs hatch. The cooler months here (June, July and August) are hot but bearable the rest of the year has very high temperatures. Oldoinyo Lengai is not a climb to take lightly, it's a very tough. This climb usually starts at midnight, to avoid the heat, and you climb for around six hours, through the night, to reach the spectacular views of the top by sunrise. The fit and brave might like to try and climb Oldoinyo Lengai, an active volcano. After a few hours, you’ll reach a beautiful natural swimming pool surrounded by steep rock walls – showered by cascades of spring water and overlooked by palm trees. This walk winds up through a shady gorge (very welcome in the heat) between steep cliffs. You can walk up to the Engero Sero Waterfalls. You can walk out across the baked mud to the shores of the great soda lake itself, in which algae and zooplankton thrive – which in turn attract the flamingos that line the lake’s shore. They feed on an algae with red pigments.Īctivities in the Lake Natron area focus mainly on walks and enjoying the fascinating scenery. Due to the high presence of natron ( a mineral salt) in the lake, these birds undergo a natural process of mummification, and you can come across stoned birds washed up along the lake shores…įew predators can survive here, and the result is a safe breeding ground for the millions of flamingos who return here annually to nest. Yet the clear water surface misleads birds who happily dive in the water, after which their skin burns and they tragically die. The alkalinity levels of the lake can become so concentrated, that they almost approach that of straight ammonia, and the water is often viscous to touch. Lake Natron sits at the lowest point of the rift valley – 600m above sea level – and is probably the world’s most caustic body of water. This area lies northeast of the Ngorongoro Crater close to the border of Kenya. Visit this area for its remoteness, spectacular scenery and the possibility to do a challenging night hike up to Oldoinyo Lengai, an active volcano. Eat some dust on your way to remote Lake Natronĭo you like to roughen it a bit? Do you like to beat the crowds in Tanzania, enjoy some off road driving on dusty and bumpy back roads? If the answer is yes - than Roadtrip Africa highly recommends a visit to Lake Natron, an out-of-space experience. We realize that you turn to our medical facility to get better. Also, keep in mind that persons will view public health recommendations and advice through a risk–benefit lens, with the same factors affecting whether they adopt a public health recommendation.Įxamples of Messages Used to Facilitate Trust During Outbreak Responses Before communicating during an outbreak, think through how risk perceptions might influence the affected populations and, therefore, how you communicate about those risks. The same is true for outbreaks and public health crises. Flying in an airplane is an event controlled by others and aligns with a risk perceived as less acceptable. For example, many persons are more worried about flying in an airplane than driving a car, despite the fact that more car crashes than airplane crashes occur each year in the United States. Conversely, persons are less accepting of risks or have greater concern or anxiety when risks are imposed or created by others, controlled by others, have no clear benefit, are human-made, come from an untrusted source, or seem exotic. Persons are usually more accepting of risks or feel less outrage when the risks are voluntary, under their control, have clear benefits, are naturally occurring, are generated from a trusted source, or are familiar ( Table 12.1). Perceptions of health risks also are tied to the degree to which persons feel alarmed or outraged-when the event causes a high level of worry or anxiety, the risk is perceived to be at a similarly high level ( 4). Additionally, persons perceive their own risks differently, depending on how likely they think the actual hazard will affect them personally and their beliefs about how severe the harm might be. Many times, persons most affected by a disease outbreak or health threat perceive the risk differently from the experts who mitigate or prevent the risk. Knowing how the public or members of affected groups perceive a risk affects what you, as a field investigator, might communicate and how you frame the key messages. Today, communications strategies during an outbreak response should include a mix of media outreach, partner and stakeholder outreach, and social media engagement ( 2). In 2016, the Pew Research Center reported that approximately 4 in 10 US residents received their news from online sources, and 6 in 10 received their news through social media channels ( 3). From the beginning of an event to its resolution and follow-up, public health authorities are expected to provide the news media with timely, accurate information and answers about the outbreak’s effects.īecause the ways in which receipt of news is evolving, the ways in which public health authorities communicate with the media and public needs to adapt in similar ways. When the cause is rare but might cause substantial harm, news outlets often treat the event as breaking news and begin sustained coverage. Immediately after the news media or community learns of a public health–related outbreak investigation, they want to know what is happening and who is affected. In today’s 24-hour news and digital media environment, people constantly receive information from many sources, ranging from print media to television to alerts and social media on mobile devices. This situation is often what prompts an outbreak investigation, and as that outbreak evolves, communications about it must evolve as well ( 1,2). As increasing numbers of persons are exposed to the risk or become ill, healthcare providers and others might become aware of the higher than expected number of illnesses and begin reporting the unusually high occurrences to local and state health authorities. Effective Messaging During Outbreak ResponsesĮvolving Outbreaks and Evolving Communicationīefore an outbreak is recognized and an investigation begins, limited numbers of persons might be exposed to health risks without experiencing illness. And finally, it’s heat resistant, making it a good stand-in for a trivet when you need space to rest things like hot skillets off the stove, casseroles out of the oven, and cooling baked goods. Since its slatted design allows air to circulate, it’s a good option for quickly and safely defrosting frozen items, too. Additionally, you can use it to hang dry any of your kitchen linens, like dish towels, cloth napkins, pot holders, and rags. It's also a handy place to stash clean fruits and vegetables as you're washing them at the sink. That’s just the start of this clever item’s uses. It also creates space for drip-drying your delicate china, ceramic, and porcelain items. It’s made with stainless steel, which makes it sturdy enough to hold even your heaviest pots and pans. This multifunctional piece of kitchen gear unfurls over your sink when you need a place for hand-washed dishes to air dry and then rolls up for easy storage. Material: Stainless steel, silicone | Dimensions: 25.5 x 15 x 7.5 inches | Mounting Type: Countertop Finally, the stainless steel construction resists corrosion and stains, and the fingerprint-proof finish stays shiny with minimal maintenance. Updated silicone-capped plate holders keep fragile dishes secure even when the rack is fully loaded. The utensil holder is another nice feature that keeps silverware and serving pieces organized while drying. If you have crystal wine glasses or other delicate stemware, you’ll appreciate the integrated wine glass rack that securely hangs four large wine glasses so they dry efficiently. The ample size of the rack will fit plates and larger pots and pans. For example, the built-in drainage tray with a swivel spout features a hydrophilic coating that spreads water out to dry more efficiently and prevent mold buildup. Actually, I would like to do more of the most effective image processing during the RAW stage of the events. May I say that most of my effective Post processing is after the basic (but effective) Raw processing as made available for users of Canon Cameras. I do not like "Burned out" Highlights and that is where I normally attempt to control this during Post Processing using Photoshop. It is difficult to know what is expected to come up with from the (so called) deep Dive. If what you want (and I don't know what you want) is basically the JPG look, then darktable probably is vast overkill - It's designed for deep dives. I may change my opinion if (and when) I actually get at least a minor amount of experience in actual use of the program. So far, it makes me wonder if it is necessary or needed to have all the minute details for processing Raw Images. I have been reading the rather long Manual for Dark Table - so I have not even touched the actual usage of the program. Being open source software, darktable needs not follow the popular vote of customers, but can do its own thing for its own niche. Which is fascinating and refreshing for technical nerds such as myself, but others clearly have different preferences. For better or worse, darktable is committed to technical depth and deep parametrization. Nobody is forcing anybody to use darktable, thankfully. That said, I can completely understand if that's not to someone's liking. And you can learn about the inner workings of image editing software in a more structured manner than the "magic" single sliders in other programs. You can play with the algorithmic tradeoffs yourself, instead of relying on hidden automation. And indeed I miss them, occasionally, when not using darktable.Īdditionally, having all this detail available is simply interesting. After using darktable for a while, you will realize that there are occasionally situations where these sliders do come in handy. However, the thing is, all of these details exist in other software as well, but hidden, or automated. And in day-to-day usage, darktable is no different: you only use a tiny subset of what is available. Lightroom et al prove that a rather smaller number of sliders is sufficient for most people and most images. |
